At least once in your life you should visit Rio.
I went to Brazil to visit my friend, Therese - she's an expat from Norway. I was picked up by a private driver on the airport, he was a really nice Brazilian man that not only got me safe to my friends house right by the beach of Ipanema - he gave me a late night sightseeing to see Rio by night.
If you ever get the chance, and of course if you dear you should experience Rio by night. Be careful and make sure you are with local people that know where to go and not. The crime rate in Brazil are high and tourists are easy targets for pickpockets.
What to do
Visit the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana
The beach at Ipanema became widely known by the song "The Girl from Ipanema".
I visited both of course, and I did as the Brazilian and got my bikini and flip-flops on at Ipanema.
I just loved being there, drinking a fresh coconut and eating my acai-smoothie.
Christ the Redeemer is an Art Deco statue of Jesus
We tok the cog train witch departs from Corcovado Station. Originally it used to transport parts of the statue, the cog train now carries up to 173 people at a time, to the top of Corcovado Mountain through the world’s largest urban forest, Tijuca National Park.
