In the footsteps of Edvard Munch
Last week I met this gorgeous lady that invited me in to the world of Edvard Munch.
Munch is best known as being a Norwegian born, expressionist painter, and was born in Norway in 1863, and was raised in Christiania (known as Oslo today).
He is the painter behind the Scream, Madonna, The dance of life and Vampire.
Paintings by Edvard Munch are widely known. He is certainly one of the best-known Scandinavian artists, and his works can be seen in public and private collections all around the globe.
Munch was a painter and printmaker, but it was the paintings that made him popular.
One particular painting needs to be emphasized – The Scream – as one of the most recognized and famous paintings in Modern Art,
One out of four version of The Scream was sold in 2012 for £74 million to a private investor.
When visiting Norway you will find Munch at Munch Museet and National Gallery.
If you want to explore more about Munch and his life you can go on a roundtrip starting in Oslo and travel in the footsteps of Edvard Munch to Åsgårdstrand and back to Oslo again as I did last week.
