Rio de Janeiro and the sexy capoeira

Rio de Janeiro with travel queen.no

Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and music. On 26.th November 2014 capoeira was granted a special protected status as "intangible cultural heritage" by UNESCO. Capoeira's history begins with the beginning of African slavery in Brazil. Capoeira nowadays is not only a martial art, but an active exporter of Brazilian culture all over the world.

Since the 1970s, capoeira mestres began to emigrate and teach it in other countries. Music is integral to capoeira. It sets the tempo and style of game, typically the music is formed by instruments and singing. Rhythm, controlled by a typical instrument called berimbau, differ from very slow to very fast, depending on the style of the roda. The Roda is a circle formed by capoeiristas and capoeira musical instruments, where every participant sings the typical songs and claps their hands following the music.

When you go to Rio it will be a experience to visit The Plataforma Samba Show that represents the rhythmic and colorful dances of Brazilian folklore, often featuring the prior year's Carnival winning Samba school dancers. There is the option to have dinner before the show, but the real attraction is the Samba dance performances.

Its hot, its fun and its sexy.

Here are a video from the evening I visited Plataforma in Rio together with my friend Therese who lives in Rio. She was the perfect hostess, and I fell in love with Rio.
